Triangle Strategy was announced back in February during a Nintendo Direct as a tactical RPG from the team behind Octopath Traveler. Actions taken throughout battle and choices made through the scales of conviction will determine the relationships forged between your party and the warring nations. It doesn't quell the fighting for long though, and the kingdoms are once again at each other's throats, with Serenoa, Frederica, and their allies stuck in the middle of the battle. Three kingdoms - Glenbrook, Aesfrost, and Hyzante - briefly found peace following a long war, and Serenoa and Frederica's marriage was meant to show that all conflicts had been settled. Nintendo also shared more of Triangle Strategy's complex narrative in the trailer.

We're then introduced to our closest allies in the trailer, including Frederica, Serenoa's betrothed from Aesfrost Roland, the prince of Glenbrook and House Wolffort's strategist Benedict, each of whom we'll need to keep in mind before we do something with major consequences. You will frustrate your party members because they don't all share the same convictions. The trailer opens up with several of the principal characters in the story reacting to the decisions of the protagonist, Serenoa Wolffort, with disgust, showing how Triangle Strategy isn't pulling any punches when it comes to decision making. Titled "Challenge Your Convictions," it emphasizes the power of the player, teasing us with the consequences our actions can have, from angering our party members over a decision to downright backstabbing them when they gave us their advice in confidence, and even ruining our marriage.
